 Essential Learning Outcomes - LHS Visual Arts Dept Minimize
Creativity/Ideas - The student-artist explores and is able to communicate a variety of imaginative and meaningful ideas which result from extending personal boundaries. 
 
Elements/Principles - The student-artist shows thoughtful and inventive use of the elements (line, shape, form, color, value, texture and space) and principles of design (movement, rhythm, variety, pattern, emphasis, proportion, balance, contrast and unity). 
 
Technique/Media Skills - The student-artist demonstrates outstanding technical competence and excellent craftsmanship with a variety of appropriate art media.
 
Culture/History - The student-artist considers the function, significance and historical context of images and artifacts from various cultures and times. 
 
Analysis/Critique - The student-artist critically analyzes existing artwork, reflects on his or her own artwork and makes fresh connections between visual qualities and ideas.
 
Work Habits/Citizenship - The student-artist works responsibly, completes tasks thoroughly and contributes positively to the classroom community.
